Los 327 niños que han muerto de hambre y sed en La Guajira

La cifra es escalofriante: entre enero de 2017 y julio de 2022, 327 niños indígenas wayús han muerto de desnutrición. Líderes de esta etnia y organizaciones no gubernamentales señalan que esto pudo evitarse si el Gobierno de Colombia hubiera cumplido las órdenes proferidas en mayo de 2017 por la Corte Constitucional para enfrentar esta tragedia en La Guajira, departamento del extremo norte colombianodel país. Cinco años después del fallo, esta investigación encontró que las respuestas gubernamentales no lograron reducir la tasa de mortalidad infantil por cada 100.000 habitantes a la media nacional, casi cuatro veces superior a la media nacional. Tampoco se creó un sistema de información sobre este pueblo ancestral ni los organismos de control hicieron un seguimiento juicioso del avance de lo pedido por el Alto Tribunal.
